I found by trial and error that the annoying credentials pop-up only happens when I open Outlook if, in the previous use, I shut the application down by using the X box in the upper right corner.

Word did prompt for MFA, as it should, but it worked fine. I think Outlook is trying to prompt for MFA but because it is using Windows Security prompt instead of the normal one, we don't get that option.

Have you created and tried an app password in the login box? Didn't know that was a thing. I will give that a shot. We had to delete the email profile, and add it back, to force Outlook to recognize that MFA is now part of the required credentials.
